Categories
- Basic FSSAI Registration: This is applicable to small-scale food businesses with annual turnover of upto Rupees 12,00,000/- (Rupees Twelve Lakh). Baisc registration is suitable for businesses operating at a local or municipal level, retailers, manufacturers and marketers.
- State FSSAI License: This license is required for food businesses with annual turnover between Rs. 12,00,000/- (Rupees Twelve Lakh) and Rs. 20,00,00,000/- (Rupees Twenty Crore). It is suitable for medium-sized businesses operating within a specific state, transporters and distributors.
- Central FSSAI License: This license is applicable to large-scale food establishments with its annual turnover exceeding Rs. 20,00,00,000/- (Rupees Twenty Crore). It is required for businesses that operate at a national level, large manufactures, importers & exporters, operators in the food chain supplying to government offices and department.

After 3 months from the date of cancellation under Regulation 2.1.8 (3), the Food Business Operator may make a fresh application for Registration or license to the concerned authority if all observations made in the improvement notice have been complied with.
On the suspension or cancellation of his/her license or registration, a food business operator needs to stop food business activities immediately. Carrying out any food business activity on suspended or cancelled License/Registration is an unlawful activity and shall attract penal actions under FSS Act, 2006.
